Referrals

Patients will need a referral to be seen in the service.

Any community based health worker can refer patients. This includes GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Community Nursing teams including District Nurses, STINT and Long Term Conditions Team Nurses, Tissue Viability Nurses, Health Visitors and School nurses.

The service is available to patients in Cumbria and neighboring areas.

South Lakes Dermatology Service appointments are booked using Choose and Book.

Practitioners without access to ‘Choose and Book’ must send a referral letter to:

Any skin disease or skin lesion can be referred to South Lakes Dermatology except for lesions highly suspicious of Malignant Melanoma or Squamous Cell Carcinoma which should be referred to the skin cancer services in your area.
